Cost vs Return: Why Making Something Perfectly is Not Helpful

We work (expend time and effort) to either provide a service or create a product for others. Ultimately if the resources we spend to create that service, produces returns equal to that which we spent, then our actions are sustainable. This is really good if we enjoy what we do (even though financially breaking even isn't very comfortable). If we profit from our endeavor, even better! It means we can do more of what we love and allocate more assets to future development of the product. There's a relationship therefore between how much time we spend and the cost of the final product. Lets say we spend lots of time making something perfect (when less time would have been sufficient). Then ultimately the cost goes up significantly. So now, your service has a conflict of interest. It may be valuable but prospective customers are reconsidering due to cost. Who are you writing for? I hope it's just one person. I hope you aren't writing for the entire world. I hope you aren't writing to please every single person. I hope you aren't trying to meet every single demand. I hope you aren't trying to make everyone happy. Write for yourself. That alone is enough.

When you fall: Two Kinds Of People

We fall and get up, from the moment we are learning to walk. Falling, failing these things are inevitable as we learn to do something new. When you fall, there are two kinds of people. Those who will pick you up and others that will kick you while you are down. In this world both can be found in abundance. It's not the one outside which matters. What matters most is which one is inside of you. It is the one your attention goes to when you act with the risk of failure. It's the one that you pay attention to when you have failed. If the one that kicks you down is within you, then you yourself have become the abuser, the oppressor, the tyrant. No longer are you able to freely choose, decide, breathe. Your memory, your fear is your authority, your prison, your chains. A child succeed in walking by falling, by failing repeatedly. Those who fear falling or failing abstain from action. Without action, without failure there cannot be progress, change, growth or success.
